“Anything worth doing is worth overdoing”. I suppose that’s my credo for great Nature Photography. Making the effort to get “good light” or often times climb for hours to the right vantage point is what separates ordinary from exceptional images.
At a recent Utah photo shoot, I was determined to capture the glowing illuminated walls inside a slot canyon and the reflection off the rapids flowing below. The shot required a 5 hour hike upstream, wearing a dry suit in 36 degree water. Great photography sometimes requires great effort.
Hiking (or climbing) to remote places and enjoying the solitude nature offers is a wonderful spiritual experience I want to share in my images.
